APPROACH:

 

  • Players to be selected based on talent and potential for further development at NPLW

  • Consideration to players welfare ensuring players are not placed in unneces-

    sary physical or psychological demands during the selection process.

  • Where possible selection processes to be short and limited to identifying the most talented players

 

TRIAL DATES:


 

Alamein Football Club will be conducting Player Trials for there NPLW 2020

U12, U14,U16 & U19 Age groups commencing on Wednesday October 9th. 2020, Trials will be held over a three - week period at

Camberwell High School, Prospect Hill Road, Camberwell

 

Trials will be conducted in three phases:

 

PHASE 1 TRIAL PERIOD – EXTERNAL “ONLY” TRIAL LISTED PLAYERS

Successful players from Phase 1 will be notified by Monday 14th October 2020 that they have been selected to attend Phase 2.

TRIAL PROCESS:

 

 

Trial sessions will focus on player observations rather than coaching and the Small Sided Game (4v4/5v5/7v7/8v8) format for understanding game principles

 

The session will include a combination of brief technical drills and game play for understand- ing game principals.

 

  1. Technical Ability (First Touch, Striking the Ball, 1v1 (Attacking/Defending) & Running with the Ball)

     

  2. Game Intelligence (Decision making when in possession of the Ball, Decision making when the opposition is in possession of the ball, Ability to anticipate/identify transi- tional moments

     

  3. Competitive nature/mentality (less focus on younger age groups)

     

  4. Explosiveness/speed (less focus on younger age groups)

 

Alamein FC will commence player offers for the 2020 squads after Phase 1 has been completed for all external trial listed players. This will be communicated directly to the individual players/parents and we request that selections remain confidential.

 

All players offered positions will be required to respond in a timely manner as per the official communication to ensure players are not holding up positions for others.

 

Players are required to arrive 15min prior to their session commencement to have their names ticked off the Registration table and to collect a numbered coloured bib to assist the coaching staff with player identification.

 

ALL PLAYERS ARE REQUIRED to wear a WHITE coloured top and either navy or black shorts during the trial process. Shin pads and water bottle for hydration too.

 

Alamein FC reserves the right to extend or end the trial process at any stage and alter/ vary target numbers of any squad.
