Alamein Academy
Alamein FC will field both junior and senior NPL, and junior Academy squads, in 2026.
“Alamein Academy” is our advanced community program, formerly known as “development” teams. The newly revitalised Academy program offers high-quality coaching and competition, creating clear opportunities for girls who want to build their skills, confidence and love of the game outside of the NPL.
To summarise the difference:
NPL teams represent our club in the State’s top competition, and Alamein is the only all-female club in Victoria with teams in every age-group of the NPL, showing our girls a clear pathway.
The junior Academy squads are for girls aged 11 to 16. They give players the same Alamein training standards, and a rewarding team environment, but in a different competition setting.
Many players prefer Academy to NPL: it allows them to keep improving and competing without the additional pressures of NPL, and gives them more flexibility to balance football with school work, friendships and other sports or hobbies.
Ultimately, by delivering both NPL and Academy programs, Alamein FC is able to give our players a choice of environments to thrive in, and to continue challenging themselves and growing as athletes.
