FEMALE FOOTBALL WEEK 2026
9 - 17 May, 2026
Female Football Week is a celebration of more than what happens on the pitch.
It’s about the people, pathways and community that continue to grow the women’s game every day. Across this week, we’ll celebrate the players who inspire us, the coaches helping shape the future, the families who support the journey, and the next generation already finding their place in football.
From MiniRoos to NPLW, from first games to future careers, this is how we celebrate our game.
^^ Feature watch: “This Is Our Game”
Women’s football is entering a defining era of growth, visibility and opportunity. This short film captures the voices of players experiencing that transformation first-hand. A collaborative short film by filmmaker Carys Hughes and Alamein FC.
^^ Feature watch: “The Women Who Change the Game”
As girls’ football continues to grow, we need more female coaches, and greater support to help those already in the game continue to progress. A short film made by Jacob Emms, sharing the perspectives of female coaches at Alamein FC.

3pm kick-offA huge afternoon for our Senior Women as they take on Melbourne Victory Women at home to open Female Football Week.
We’re calling on the whole Alamein community to bring the noise. Make a poster, wear your colours, grab a banner from the changerooms and help create an atmosphere worthy of the occasion.
After the match, junior players will be invited onto the pitch to join the Senior Women’s post-game huddle.

Recap from FFW 2025
During Female Football Week in 2025, we took some time to reflect on a simple but important question: Will she still play?
Our club marked Female Football Week with conversations, events, and stories that focused on why girls stay in sport, and what sometimes makes them leave. From sponsor messages of support to leadership panels and player-led videos, it was a chance to hear directly from the people in our community. As a club built for girls and women, we were proud to be part of this week, and to share what it meant to us.
