Why do sporting clubs fundraise?
Thanks to our kit supplier Macron, we’ve been given until 24 October to finalise our 2026 kit, and add a few more names to the stripe that represents something bigger than football.

2026 season trial dates
We’re excited to announce the dates, times, and locations for Alamein FC trials for the 2026 season. Times are shared in this post for NPLW, VYPLG (formerly JGNPL), and Alamein Academy (formerly Development).

Navigating football trials (a guide for parents)
Trials can be one of the most exciting and stressful times in a young player’s football journey. For parents, the process often feels overwhelming: pathways, pressure, and big decisions about what’s next. We’ve created Navigating Football Trials, a free guide to help families feel supported, informed and confident.

Alamein girls crowned Junior Nike FC Cup champions
Last week, a mixed team of Alamein Under 13 and Under 15 NPLW players, together with players from our Under 15 Performance Squad, took part in the Junior Nike FC Cup. The girls went undefeated through the group stage and finished the tournament with a tight 1–0 win in the final, bringing the trophy home to Alamein.

Building futures together
It was a cold night at training, the kind where the wind bites, the grass is wet, and you can see your breath in the lights. But that never stops the Alamein FC squads from training, and on this night they had company.

Celebrating two-star Club Changer recognition
Something special is happening at Alamein FC, and it’s just been recognised at the national level. We’re proud to share that Alamein has officially achieved two-star status in Football Australia’s Club Changer program.

This is what we stand for
Our annual fundraiser night on 2 August 2025 was more than just a good time, it was a powerful reminder of who we are and why we exist.

Keeping girls in sport
One of the most concerning trends in youth sport is how many girls stop playing around the ages of 13 to 15. The reasons are varied: social pressure, body image, school demands, or simply not feeling like they belong.

Supportive isn’t soft
When Matildas forward Emily Gielnik visited our Under-13 NPL squad in May, she spoke about leadership, mindset, and building team culture. But the most powerful moment came when she turned the spotlight onto the girls themselves, and their responses said a lot about the kind of environment we’re building at Alamein FC.

Bingo night fundraiser
Alamein FC is throwing a Bingo Night — and it’s going to be anything but quiet. This is your official invitation to a night of fast numbers, loud laughter, questionable competitiveness, and glorious fundraising in support of our girls in football.

100 games, 1000 ripples
This afternoon, Ashleigh Lefevre will step onto the pitch for her 100th game in Alamein colours. It’s a remarkable milestone for one of our club’s most loyal and talented players, but more than that, it’s a moment that speaks to the deeper culture we’re building at Alamein FC.

Supporting girls who want more
Before they were playing National Premier League football, Yasemin and Ivy were part of something special: Alamein’s all-girl Development Squad.

Still unequal: the gender gap in sports funding
Progress has been made in women’s sport, but we’re not there yet, especially when it comes to funding.

Why female role models matter
This Friday, as the Matildas take on Argentina right here in Melbourne, excitement is running high across the football community. For many of us at Alamein FC, this match isn’t just another game, it’s a powerful reminder of the lasting impact that female role models can have on young players.

From the pitch to the boardroom: inspiring future female leaders
When we talk about why sport matters for girls, we often focus on health, fitness, or fun. But there’s another reason that gets less attention: leadership.

Backing the game
At many clubs, the roles of coach and sponsor are separate. But at Alamein FC, John Kyrgios is both…

Will she still play? What girls are telling us about the future of football
In Australia, close to 50 percent of girls quit sport by the age of 17. Not because they don’t love it, but because of challenges like confidence, lack of opportunities, not feeling good enough, or simply not being heard. At Alamein, we want to change that story…

It’s not a commercial. It’s a commitment.
For Female Football Week, we asked our sponsors to do something they don’t normally do: to speak directly to our players…

What Female Football Week means to us
Female Football Week is a national initiative but, for us at Alamein FC, it feels deeply personal. It’s a chance to pause and celebrate the people, progress, and purpose behind why we do what we do…
