Why do sporting clubs fundraise?

When people think about fundraising in community sport, they often imagine clubs struggling to keep the lights on. That’s not our story.

At Alamein FC, we’re proud to be in a strong and stable financial position. Our players are supported by excellent coaches, NPL-standard pitch and a thriving culture.

So why fundraise?

Because we want to go further.

As Victoria’s only all-female club competing at every level of the NPL, Alamein carries a responsibility that reaches beyond our own players. Every time we raise the standard of coaching, mentoring or player care, we raise it for girls everywhere who dream of playing and excelling in football.

That’s why we launched our first ever fundraising campaign, the "Alamein Angels" campaign: not to survive, but to lead.

Every donation we receive goes directly to building better programs, resources and pathways for female footballers. And through our partnership with the Australian Sports Foundation, all contributions are tax-deductible.

Thanks to our kit supplier Macron, we’ve just been given a short extension to finalise our 2026 playing kit. That means any individual or business who wants to donate now has until 24 October to have their name or dedication woven into the stripe our players will wear next season, a visible reminder of the community standing behind them.

Because progress in women’s sport isn’t about what we HAVE to do, it’s about what we choose to do NEXT.
