Swedish midfielder Ida Akesson joins Alamein's Senior NPLW squad for 2027, bringing championship-winning experience from the United States and a season in Queensland's NPLW competition.
Ida was a member of the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) team that won the 2024 NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship, defeating Keiser University 4–1 in the final. Her performances throughout the season earned selection in the NAIA All-America First Team, recognising her among the competition's leading collegiate players.
Following her time in the United States, Ida joined Sunshine Coast Wanderers for the 2026 Queensland NPLW season, scoring four goals in 13 appearances.
A strong, two-way midfielder, Ida combines defensive work rate with the ability to contribute in attack. She joins Alamein with experience across European, American and Australian football environments.
