Backing the game

At many clubs, the roles of coach and sponsor are separate. But at Alamein FC, John Kyrgios is both.

As head coach of the Senior NPL Women’s team, John brings experience, clarity, and calm leadership to the pitch. Off the field, he backs the club financially through his business, John Kyrgios & Associates.

His reason is simple: he believes in the value of women’s football.

John sees firsthand the discipline, intensity, and ambition of the players he coaches. And he believes their effort deserves serious support, not just in words, but in action. Sponsoring the club is his way of contributing to something he considers important: building a strong, respected pathway for female footballers in Victoria.

It’s not about visibility. It’s about doing the work, and helping others do theirs.

In this short interview with Senior player Neve Duston, John speaks about the culture at Alamein FC, the season so far, and why belief - belief - in women’s football is something he’s proud to stand behind.
