Congratulations Estelle Bougias, 3rd in NPLW Victoria Best & Fairest

A hearty congratulations to Alamein FC skipper Estelle Bougias, who capped a strong 2026 season off with a third-place finish in the NPLW Victoria Best & Fairest.

Estelle polled 27 votes in the league award, finishing behind FC Bulleen Lions’ Sarah Cain on and Essendon Royals’ Kelli McGroarty.

The result places the Alamein defender among the competition’s leading performers for 2026 and is significant and well-deserved recognition for a player who has become such an important part of the club, both on and off the pitch.

Estelle’s journey at Alamein began five years ago, when she joined the club’s U19 program in 2021.

She progressed into the Senior squad over the following seasons, establishing herself at NPLW level before being appointed Alamein’s Senior captain at the beginning of the 2025 season.

Since taking on the captaincy, Estelle has continued to play an important role at the heart of Alamein’s defence while becoming an equally important leader away from match day.

A committed participant in Alamein’s Buddy Program, Estelle has built strong connections with the club’s younger players and regularly supports junior teams at their games. Her willingness to invest time in the next generation has made her an important role model not only within the Senior squad, but across the club.

Her performances throughout 2026 were also recognised within the club, with Estelle sharing Alamein’s own Senior Best & Fairest for 2026 with teammate Neve Duston.

The third-place league finish adds further recognition to an outstanding individual season and marks another milestone in a journey that began in Alamein’s U19s.
