Cindy Rangi appointed U14 Academy Head Coach for 2027
Alamein FC has appointed C Diploma coach Cindy Rangi as Head Coach of the club’s U14 Academy team for the 2027 season, bringing recent experience across senior women’s and junior girls’ football to the role.
Rangi will combine her new role at Alamein FC with her continuing position at Burwood City FC, where she co-coaches the Senior Women’s team.
Her appointment strengthens the coaching team within Alamein’s Academy program as the club continues to invest in the football environment available to players across its community teams.
Experience across the female game
Rangi’s recent coaching experience spans both junior and senior female football. In 2025, she coached the U14 girls at Mount Waverley Soccer Club while also serving as Assistant Coach of the club’s Senior Women’s team, which won the State League 5 East title.
She joined Burwood City in 2026, co-coaching the Senior Women’s team through a successful campaign that secured promotion to State League 6 for 2027. Rangi will continue with the Senior Women alongside her role at Alamein next season.
Rangi holds a Football Australia C Diploma and a Foundation of Goalkeeping qualification, bringing additional goalkeeper coaching knowledge to her new role.
A focus on development at U14
The U14 age group represents an important stage in a young player’s development, as strong technical foundations are increasingly combined with greater tactical understanding and the demands of competitive football.
Rangi’s appointment reflects Alamein’s focus on providing purposeful, qualified coaching within its Academy program and creating an environment where players can continue to develop, compete and be challenged.
She will also have support from current Senior NPLW player and 2026 U14 Academy Head Coach Neve Duston, who will assist the U14 program when her U13 GYVPL coaching and player commitments allow. Duston led the U14 Academy to second place in Community A in 2026 and will become Alamein’s U13 GYVPL Head Coach next season. Her continued involvement with the U14s provides continuity for returning players while adding the perspective of a current Senior player to the coaching environment.
For Rangi, the opportunity brings together her experience in female football and her focus on individual player development.

Building towards 2027
The U14s will form part of an expanded Alamein Academy in 2027, with the club planning teams from U11 through to U18 and continuing to grow opportunities for girls to play within an all-female football environment.
Rangi will take charge of the U14 program with a focus on creating a positive and competitive environment in which players are encouraged to keep developing their game.
Her appointment continues Alamein’s investment in qualified coaches across its Academy program, alongside the club’s GYVPL, U20 and Senior NPLW programs.
