Alamein opens five internship opportunities for 2027
Alamein FC is inviting aspiring sports industry professionals to become part of this all-female NPL club in 2027, with five internship opportunities spanning media, content production, partnerships and match-day operations.
The initiative forms part of Alamein's ongoing efforts to strengthen the way the club operates, while creating opportunities for young people to gain practical experience in the sporting industry.
As Victoria's only all-female football club offering a complete pathway from junior development through to senior NPLW competition, Alamein has long focused on helping young footballers develop and progress.
But the opportunities that exist within a football club extend well beyond playing and coaching.
From the journalists who tell the stories of a season to the people who manage commercial partnerships, create digital content and bring match days to life, there are many different skills involved in running a successful sporting organisation.
Alamein's 2027 internship program aims to give emerging talent the opportunity to experience some of these roles firsthand, while contributing to the club's continued development.
Growing the club, on and off the pitch
Like many community-based clubs competing at a high level, Alamein relies heavily on the dedication of volunteers. At the same time, the demands of operating a club with teams competing in Victoria's elite women's and girls' competitions continue to grow.
The introduction of dedicated internship roles is one way Alamein is working to build greater structure, consistency and capability across its off-field operations.
Rather than asking people to simply lend a hand wherever needed, the club has identified five areas where interns can take on defined responsibilities and contribute to specific projects throughout the season.
The arrangement is intended to be mutually beneficial: Alamein gains additional capability and fresh perspectives, while interns have the opportunity to develop their skills through practical involvement in a working football club.
Interns will work alongside relevant club personnel, with responsibilities tailored to the nature of each role and the experience they bring.
Five opportunities for 2027
Partnerships Intern
Working with Alamein's President and Vice President, the Partnerships Intern will help coordinate sponsor relationships, benefits and activations, gaining exposure to the commercial side of running a sporting club.
Match Day & Community Intern
This role will focus on making Alamein's Senior home games more engaging for supporters and the local community, from match promotion to coordinating activities, entertainment and supporter experiences.
Podcast & Content Producer Intern
With Alamein planning to introduce a club podcast in 2027, this intern will help bring the project to life, contributing to episode planning, guest interviews, production and social media content.
Football Media Intern (Senior Squad)
Covering Alamein's Senior NPLW team throughout the season, this intern will produce match reports, conduct post-match interviews and help tell the stories of the players and coaches. The role offers opportunities to build a portfolio of published sports journalism.
Content & Community Intern (Junior Teams)
Working across Alamein's junior program, this intern will coordinate weekly results coverage, produce digital content and help share the achievements and experiences of the club's young footballers.
An opportunity to get involved in sport
The internships may be particularly relevant to university and TAFE students, recent graduates and young people interested in careers in sport, media, communications, business or events.
They are not formal training qualifications, and Alamein FC does not operate as an education provider. Instead, the roles offer opportunities to gain experience by contributing to real activities and projects within the club.
For Alamein, the internship initiative also reflects a broader belief that a football club can create opportunities for young people in more ways than one.
Not everyone who wants to be involved in sport will pursue a career as a player or coach. Some may find their interests lie in storytelling, event management, commercial partnerships or community engagement.
By opening up these opportunities, Alamein hopes to support people exploring those interests, while continuing to build a stronger and more sustainable club.
Applications now open
Alamein is seeking enthusiastic, reliable applicants who are interested in contributing to the club and developing their experience throughout the 2027 season.
Applicants don't need to be Alamein players or have an existing connection to the club. What matters is a willingness to become part of the Alamein community, take pride in representing the club and approach the opportunity with professionalism and commitment.
